My name is Thomas Evenstad, and SVPConsultation.com is my Business Website. TEVEnterprises is based out of the Lake Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA area.
I offer Consulting Services for persons detained under the SVP laws, SVP Defense Attorneys, Expert Witnesses, Evaluators/Examiners, as well as to Respondents and potential Respondents within the Sexually Violent Predator (SVP) Context.
I am not an Attorney or a Psychologist/Psychiatrist. I am a Legal Assistant/Paralegal who has researched the SVP Commitment Laws (SDP/SPP in MN), and studied Sexual Offender Risk Assessment for several years. I have consulted with many of the foremost experts in the U.S and Canada both from the legal side as well as the forensic mental health side.
I believe that many SVP states, including Minnesota, are growing increasingly concerned over the astronomical costs of these Programs. Consequently, I believe that any efforts to responsibly identify those men who may be safely transitioned back into the community without compromising public safety would be welcome by these states.
I have a unique combination of knowledge about these types of commitments, both from the legal and forensic mental health perspectives. I also have extensive knowledge regarding the Conditions of Confinement at the Minnesota Sex Offender Program.
